Colleges I Selected Using College Scorecard Couldn’t Be Added to My FAFSA® Form

College Scorecard provides information on some colleges that aren’t available for selection in the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form.

  • Colleges you selected on the College Scorecard website might not have been added to your FAFSA form for any of the following reasons:
  • A college selected might be a branch campus that doesn’t process financial aid. Many colleges have a main campus location and branch (or satellite) campuses. Typically, the main campus processes your FAFSA form for financial aid purposes.
  • The Federal School Code is inactive. This occurs when colleges close. In some cases, the online FAFSA form will replace the inactive code with an active code.
  • An error occurred when the information was transferred from the College Scorecard to the online FAFSA form.

You can select “ADD MORE SCHOOLS” from the “Selected Colleges and Housing Plans” page to search for additional school codes in the online FAFSA form.
