Month and Year You Became a Legal Resident
This is question 20 on the paper Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form.
You indicated you weren’t a legal resident of the state entered in the state of legal residence question before Jan. 1, 2015. You must type the month and year you became a legal resident.
Enter two numbers for the month and four numbers for the year. If the month is less than 10, type a zero in front of the number. For example, August 2016 must be entered as 082016. You can’t enter a year that is later than the current one.
Your state will use this information to determine if you meet its criteria for state financial aid.
