Federal School Code

Federal School Code

These are questions 101a, c, e, and g on the paper Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form.

A Federal School Code is always six characters, beginning with 0 (zero), G, B, or E and ending with a five-digit number. For example, 003223 is the Federal School Code for the University of Oregon.

Enter the Federal School Code for the college or career school you’re interested in attending and select “Search.” If a match is found, it’ll display in the “Search Results” table. If the college or career school you were looking for displays, select it to add it to your FAFSA form.

If you don’t know the Federal School Code, you can instead search for the college or career school by selecting the state and entering the school’s name and/or city.
